At the Brotherhood of Heroes luncheon on Aug.
27, over 60 veterans including some over 100 attended and heard from Dr. Stephen Wener of the VA about Honor Flights. Founder Carol Culliton announced a flight to Washington set for Saturday, Oct. 10 (with a Welcome Home Parade the same evening).

Slipaway Food Truck Park and Marina will offer weekly Saturday Pilates classes from September through December with a 45-minute mat session and a mimosa or mocktail for $25.
Pinnacle Financial Partners named Jay Santos as Cape Coral office leader, and the local airport saw a 5.7% drop in July passengers.

For the ninth time, Dedicated Artists of Southwest Florida will display over 100 pieces of 2D and 3D art at Cape Coral Library from Sept.
10 through Oct. 30 during regular business hours. The free exhibit is supported by the Friends of the Cape Coral Library.

4th St., Suite 7 is hosting a book signing with author C.A.M. Muñoz on Oct. 17 at 1 p.m. in Cape Coral where readers can learn about his new psychological thriller.

Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife will host its first meeting of the season on Sept.
8 at Rotary Park with networking at 6:30 p.m. followed by a presentation on Florida bats by Allyson Webb at 7 p.m.; the event is open to all.

Cape Coral Seahawks beat Dunbar 26-20 on Thursday, Sept.
3 at Joe North Stadium with five turnovers, including three in the red zone, turning a heavy loss into a win that sets a competitive tone for the season.
Local high school football players received Game Balls for standout performances from Sept.
3 to Sept. 4, with Cape Coral’s TJ Schley among those honored for key plays + others across the region. The News-Press and Naples Daily News awarded winners to highlight top efforts on the field.
