Cape Coral City Council approved a $45.7 million tax rebate for the Bimini East project on Wednesday.
The tax-increment financing agreement runs on a pay-as-you-go basis until 2042 - it will rebate funds only after the developer reaches occupancy and pays taxes to protect taxpayers.

Gulf Coast beat Estero 50-43 in a high school football game on Thursday, Sept.
10 in Southwest Florida, giving local fans a thrilling contest.
After rain, many teams completed Week 3 games, shifting SWFL football rankings.
